Here are a list of tips for stainless steel machining:

1. Use a tool that has higher thermal-conductivity

4. Choose an appropriate tool
Tools for the stainless steel should have a good toughness of the attributes, and the enough of strength on their edge line (cutting edge) & a higher film adhesion.

Refinishing a Metal File Cabinet.

Hey dudes I have asked the question in the forums that “How to sand and clean a metal file cabinet, then shoot it with automobile finish. February 8, 2011.”But my real question is that I know very well that this is not a wood finishing, but it is also a finishing related process. I also know from the reading past posts in the forums that some of you have the ideas about the auto finishing experience. I need to do the re-shoot a file of the cabinet (metal) properly, and I picked up a single stage for the auto finish (Nason). What kinds of preparation work that do I need to do? There are a couple of the small scratches that go to a metal; otherwise, we will be able to the original finish is intact. Do I need to shoot a primer first?

Hey sir I will say that if you don't want to the scratches to show on the through, you have to fill them to a somehow.

Sir I will agree with you and I will say that a Sand it all down p600. Use as a glazing and a spot putty to fill the scratches and chips. Sand and prime putty with a metal primer. Spray whole unit with primer surface. Sand p600. Spray can be a finish coat. That's how I'd do it.
